The scent of vibrant fabrics and the hum of friendly chatter filled the small shop in Hyderabad where I spent my childhood. Sunlight streamed through the open door, casting warm patterns on the colorful displays of beautiful saris and fabrics at our family business. Behind the counter, I learned early on that every customer carried a story, every conversation was a bridge, and every smile was a connection waiting to be made.
In that lively, bustling space, I discovered the pulse of people — their hopes, their needs, their trust. It was here, among the threads and voices, that the seeds of my journey were quietly planted. I didn’t realize then that these simple, everyday moments were teaching me lessons far beyond the shop: lessons in empathy, communication, and the power of genuine connection.
Looking back now, those experiences shaped more than just my childhood—they shaped the path I would follow, even when I didn’t yet know where it would lead.
When I enrolled in Computer Science at Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology(KMIT) in Hyderabad, it wasn’t because I had a clear direction but because my curiosity led me there. I enjoyed the subject and the promise of technology, but deep down, something felt incomplete. Then the pandemic arrived, forcing a pause that invited reflection. I realized I wanted more than just a career — I wanted to belong, to grow, to connect.
That moment that led me to AT&T
Starting as a fresh graduate with no experience, I was welcomed not just with a job, but with a chance to grow. Supporting an AVP as a Business Admin, I was entrusted with responsibility early on. I wasn’t micromanaged, I was mentored. I wasn’t just observed, I was supported. That environment changed everything.
Later, working alongside the VP of the India Development Center, my perspective broadened. I met inspiring leaders, witnessed strategic decision-making, and understood the power of trust and communication. AT&T nurtured growth in every sense, not just vertical but holistic.
Through it all, I held onto the storyteller inside me. I found ways to connect with others — volunteering with AT&T Pulse of India, organizing cultural events, and starting a book club through AT&T SPIRIT program. AT&T gave me space to bring my full self to work, to meet incredible people, and to create moments filled with purpose and joy.
Connecting Changes Everything.
From my family’s small shop where connection built loyalty, to the community that became our strength, to AT&T where ideas and people unite — connection has been my guiding thread.
No matter how technical or corporate a role might seem, I learned there is always room for connection. Always space for stories. Always an opportunity to bring people together.
I never followed a traditional path. I had no checklist or 5-year plan — only curiosity and courage. AT&T gave me the platform to grow, the freedom to fail, and the community to rise. And through it all, I continued doing what I love most: listening to stories, learning from people, and becoming fuller because of them.
I may not have become the journalist I once dreamed of, but I am still telling stories — through strategy, service, and the culture we create. More importantly, I am living a story of my own: one that blends heart and business, curiosity and connection. One that began with a curious girl in a small store and continues with a young woman shaping the future in telecom.
Looking back, this is just the beginning.
