We sat down with Field Sales Representative Gabby Martinez to find out what brought her to the role, how AT&T helps her achieve work-life balance, and how others can find success in the field.

How did you become a Field Sales Representative?

Before joining AT&T, I was a Retail Store Manager for a competitor. I’ve been in Telecommunications for over eight years now. I friend referred me to AT&T, and I was interested because I had heard great things about the culture, benefits, and – most importantly – work-life balance.

What I liked about Field Sales was the ability to be mobile and getting to bring the Retail store into the customers’ homes.

What are some of the benefits of working at AT&T?

One of my favorite benefits we have is the Wellbeing Account that covers health-related needs, like annual checkups. They also offer medical insurance at a great cost, free counseling services, and tuition reimbursement opportunities.

How is the commission structure in Field Sales?

Commission is based on performance and the total number of activations on a monthly basis. There are also several add-ons that can increase pay further. Most importantly, there is no commission cap, which is a major difference compared to other companies.

How does AT&T support growth and development?

My leadership is very supportive, and we frequently have 1on1 conversations about my career path and growth opportunities. They also have helped when applying to other positions. The company overall is dedicated to learning and offers trainings to stay up to date on new tech and services.

What makes AT&T the best place to build a career in sales?

We have a competitive advantage when it comes to the quality of products and services we offer compared to other providers. A Sales career here gives you the best opportunity to maximize pay and build a skillset that will help you succeed in any career.
