The technology we use is changing every day. And Brandon Melchior is at the center of it all in our Experience Design Studio. Learn how his team is working hard to design an engaging experience for our customers.
Tell me a little about what you do.
I oversee interaction and motion design for our Entertainment Products. I lead a small team of animator-designer hybrids who deliver new solutions to our engineers. We want customers to find our products simple and entertaining.
What excites you about your work?
I’m really excited about the effort to show how motion can improve our product experiences and our brand. This is the first time we’ve been able to consider not just how things look and function, but also how they move.
What sets AT&T apart from other tech companies?
I’m really impressed by how open AT&T is to embrace new ideas and push them through. This is common in small tech start-ups, but harder to find in bigger companies.
What do you like most about your job? What keeps you challenged?
I love the team I get to work with every day. I’m very lucky to work with such smart and passionate people.
What keeps me challenged is learning how to navigate constant changes and move concepts forward.
Tell us about your opportunities for growth and development.
The Experience Design Studio is rapidly growing and there’s a lot of opportunities to take on new and interesting challenges. If you’re clear about your career goals, there’s always a path to achieve them.
How would you describe the culture of your team?
We’re vibrant and highly collaborative. Everyone truly cares about what we do and the customers we serve.
How has working at AT&T helped further your education?
My on-the-job learning has been invaluable. I came to DirecTV/AT&T with a lot of interactive and management experience, but I continue to become a better designer, co-worker and manager every week.
